From the groundbreaking to the opening: I was there
The historical reconstruction of the Berlin Palace as the Humboldt Forum is the largest cultural building project in Germany since reunification - and although it was approved by the German Bundestag with a large majority, it was controversial for a long time. I accompanied the project on the client side from the beginning to the opening as head of communications. I witnessed all the key decisions regarding planning, the construction process and the content. At the end of my work on this impressive cultural project, I published the book "The Humboldt Forum in the Berlin Palace". No one else knows this building as well as I do. I would really enjoy telling you the exciting stories surrounding this largest historical reconstruction building project in Berlin.
Parliament and government district
The Reichstag building, the Chancellery and the new buildings for the German Bundestag were built in the Spreebogen in Berlin by the Bundesbaugesellschaft Berlin mbH. As the managing director's "right-hand man", I looked after the supervisory board and the company's other committees. This means I know all the strategic decisions in the planning and construction phases first-hand. I would be happy to share these unique experiences with you on an entertaining tour of the government and parliamentary district. The art-in-architecture projects worth around 17 million euros, which I also looked after, were particularly exciting.

The standard work on the reconstruction of the Berlin Palace
At the end of my work for the Berlin Palace - Humboldt Forum, I published the standard work on this epochal reconstruction project with Prestel-Verlag/Munich. All those involved on the architects' and builders' side, as well as the actors, the Ethnological Museum, the Museum of Asian Art and the Berlin Museum, contributed to this anthology. The essays on the history of the Berlin Palace and the history of the new building are mine.
